About

David Herrera is a Cuban-born filmmaker and artist working in Los Angeles and Miami.

Early in his career, David shot and developed unscripted documentary content, most notably through touring with basketball star, Dwyane Wade. This later manifested as cinematography ESPN feature documentary, LIFE UNEXPECTED.

Later on, David finished his studies at ArtCenter College of Design, where he was exposed to different artistic mediums — such as sculptural, design, photographic, and performative processes. During this time at school he also honed cinematographic practices and developed a strong technical and artistic foundation in all aspects of production.

Today, David has collaborated with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Gatorade, DSquared, Li’ning, Skechers, Hisense, UNINTERRUPTED, COANIQUEM, amongst others. He’s worked with musicians and music labels such as Columbia, Sony music, Interscope records. Alas, this has manifested into a visual language and style that appeals and draws interest from the sublime. His creative ethos is equal parts disruptive, heartfelt, and meditative. As a director, David draws from personal truths and seeks to deliberately evoke honest emotions and an intimate connection to both subject, and audience, through refined aesthetics. Whether commercial, music video, narrative, or documentary, David continues to imprint his voice in an ever-growing body of work.
